Aysgarth Nook by Maison Parfaite

Aysgarth Nook by Maison Parfaite

Aysgarth Nook is a traditional Wensleydale cottage that’s been transformed into a luxurious, modernist retreat. This bold and stylish, newly renovated property is filled with designer furniture and state of the art fittings at every turn, without ever diminishing its 300-year-old charm.

This stunning cottage contains original beams in the lounge, a log burning stove, and deep window seats from which to enjoy magnificent views over open fells. These traditional features contrast beautifully with the sleek, Kesseler kitchen, industrial staircase, and Nordic-style, ‘floating’ bedroom furniture. Innovative features extend to the lighting and heating system, including the images of Aysgarth Falls above the beds, taken by local photographer David Tarn, which are actually Infrared heating panels – an energy efficient, therapeutic alternative to traditional electric heating.

The ground floor is fitted with Wi-Fi-enabled, underfloor heating which can be controlled by your smart phone – a blessing for walkers returning from the bracing outdoors! And the soothing hot tub in the private garden offers magnificent views over Wensleydale.

Aysgarth Nook is situated in the picture-postcard Wensleydale village of Aysgarth, beside the fabulous Hamilton’s Tearooms and just a 2-minute walk away from the George and Dragon Pub, serving hearty home cooked meals and fine ales.

Nearby are the Aysgarth Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the North, attracting visitors the whole year round. Artists, photographers and writers flock here to capture the imagery and the drama of the falls, which show their true magnificence in wetter months. Ruskin, Turner, and Wordsworth were three such visitors, and all enthused about the falls’ outstanding beauty.

Aysgarth itself sits within the boundaries of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, close to the pretty market towns of Leyburn and Hawes with their host of quirky, independent shops, restaurants, cafes, and traditional pubs. The imposing Castle Bolton is a 4-mile hike or short drive away. There are many stunning walks and cycleways around Aysgarth, including the start of the “Three Peaks” trail. Visit the Wensleydale creamery for a taste of the delicious Wensleydale cheeses or take a trip to the Forbidden Corner at Middleham – a wonderful day out that will delight all ages!

There is off-road parking across the road on a first come, first served basis. Plenty of additional parking is available on nearby streets. For your own safety, we don’t recommend parking directly outside the house as it is a blind corner.

A much-celebrated feature of the property with the most stunning views of Wensleydale, including a hot tub, loungers, decking, and an outside table and chairs.

Hot Tub

The hot tub can be used between 9.00am and 9.00pm to respect the privacy of our neighbours. We also ask that you moderate any noise when enjoying the hot tub. It takes some time to reach its optimum temperature once refilled, and may not reach this on your first night’s stay.
