The Captains Residence occupies the first and second floors, but with it’s own private entrance on the ground floor, sleeping up to 8 guests.
The first-floor open plan dining, lounge and kitchen has jaw dropping views across the bay is a glorious social space oozing with old school glamour in a thoroughly modern way.
Each of the 4 bedrooms (2 x Kingsize, 1 x Double and 1 x Twin), are dressed to thrill, with uber comfortable winged velvet beds that you just won’t want to get out of, beautiful bespoke and antique furniture, designer lighting and luxurious linens. There are also 2 bathrooms (one with a large walk in shower, the other with a freestanding feature bath). There are also 2 separate WC rooms, so plenty of facilities for all.
The Captains Residence has 2 off-street parking spaces.
Villa Neptune is a wonderfully stylish and exceptionally spacious 2 bedroomed apartment.
Both bedrooms are dressed with sumptuous Superking beds and adorned with beautiful bespoke designer furniture. With high ceilings and designer lighting these rooms really are an absolute haven of decadence.
The designer Kesseler Kitchen with wine chiller and Neff Appliances throughout is fully equipped and will satisfy the most discerning of chefs.
Villa Neptune has a feature bathroom with shower over bath, fabulous tiles and a separate WC room.
The apartment has a huge open plan living, dining space in the new modern extension with bi-fold doors opening out onto the large and enclosed private garden with hot tub, barbecue and seating area.

Formerly owned by a local Sea Captain, Rounton House was named after his beloved ship. This vast Victorian Villa commands an enviable position in Robin Hood’s Bay, overlooking the sweeping coastline and just a stone’s throw from all the action. The house itself has all of the grandeur and original features that one would expect to find in a Captains House, perfectly juxtaposed with ultra-slick modernist furniture and high end, decadent décor.
For larger groups looking for accommodation for up to 12 guests, Rounton Villa can be opened up for full access to create one huge house with 6 large bedrooms, 2 x large lounges, and dining space to seat all 12 guests together in the open plan extension.
Perfect for family gatherings, the house is ideally set out to bring everybody together but to also offer privacy when needed. With 6 bathrooms / WC’s in total as well as 2 well equipped kitchens the facilities at Rounton House are bound to meet your requirements. Surrounded by gardens to the front, side and back, where there is also a hot tub. There are plenty of places to sit out and enjoy the evening after a long day at the beach! Rounton House has 4 off-street parking spaces in total.
Additional Information
Heating:
Independent controls for each floor. We set the thermostats at a constant, comfortable 16 degrees C. Please advise us prior to arrival if you would prefer a higher or lower temperature.
Hot Tub:
Please note that the hot tub is for the use of guests staying in Villa Neptune, or of course when the whole property is rented. We request that the hot tub is only used from 9.00am until 9.00pm to avoid disturbing our neighbours. We also ask that outside music and other noise is kept to minimum at any time during the day.
Pets:
Two small, house trained dogs are welcome to bring their owners. Dog bowls are provided under the kitchen sink. Please advise us prior to arrival if bringing pets as there is a small surcharge of £30 per pet (per booking, not per night).
Parking:
There are four private parking spaces. 2 for each apartment, or all of them if you book the full property.
Smoking:
Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the property, but you are welcome to smoke in the garden, or at the front or side garden areas of the property.
Short Breaks:
Accepted all year round.
Facilities for Babies and Young Children:
We have a high chair for babies. A travel cot is also available and should be requested prior to arrival.
We also provide electrical socket protectors.
WiFi
There is excellent WiFi throughout the property.The code for the WIfI is in the Welcome Pack located in the kitchen upon arrival.
Coffee Machine:
We have a Lavazza espresso machine in both kitchens. We supply several pods as a welcome gesture, but you may like to bring some with you.
