Perched on the edge of Harrogate city centre, Maison Parfaite HG1 is a sublime independently run boutique accommodation that balances modern and vintage style to perfection. We spent a blissful weekend in this homely hideaway and discovered the devil really is in the finer details.

Situated just a few steps from Harrogate train station and two minutes from the town centre, the property itself is surprisingly quiet for such a prime location and comes with two private car parking spaces.

Stepping inside, it’s difficult not to be drawn in by the distinctive interior design. Channelling everything from Breakfast at Tiffany’s to Andy Warhol, HG1 is a mishmash of vintage glamour and contemporary cool that’s effortlessly charming.

The living room is decidedly beatnik, with a subtle music theme running throughout. Plush, oversized sofas are scattered with designer throws and cushions, whilst the vibrant prints that adorn the walls compliment the various pops of colour dotted the room. The gramophone style music cabinet by Paolo Cappello Design and a bright red llama statue add a touch more character to a room that’s ultimately designed for chilling. The wall-mounted 65’’ LED Smart TV is Netflix ready for those lazy movie nights.

One thing HG1 is not short of is space. Three double bedrooms and one single room allows the property to comfortably accommodate seven people, which offers exceptional value for money. The ground floor master bedroom boasts high ceilings, art deco furniture and an impossibly comfortable king size bed. The en suite bathroom features deep emerald green tiles, a rolltop bath and opulent gold mirrors.

Head downstairs and you’ll discover the other bedrooms are equally as gorgeous. The main bathroom is one of the properties most striking rooms and features another rolltop bath and a show-stopping walk-in shower that continues the art deco theme.

If you’re planning to entertain during your stay, you’ll find everything you need and more in the eye-catching Kesseler kitchen. High-end Neff appliances, designer wine glasses, razor-sharp kitchen knives and endless utensils mean that even the most seasoned of chefs will not struggle to whip up a storm and serve it up in style. The trendy circular ceramic dining table by the entrance is flanked by a striking minimalist clock, which completes a space that’s made for socialising.

Prices range from £225 to £400 per night with discounts of up to 27% for extended stays, offering exceptional value for money for a property that sleeps seven. HG1 is the second rental property from the rapidly expanding Maison Parfaite brand, who launched their portfolio with a stunning 5 bed cottage in the Yorkshire Dales named Aysgarth Nook.

Complete with luxury furnishings and a private terrace complete with BBQ and hot tub, the property has been popular with families looking to get away for an indulgent staycation. The brand also recently unveiled Maison Parfaite YO1 in York and are set to launch LS1. Located in central Leeds, this block of six luxury 1-bed apartments will be taking bookings in early 2020.

Hot on its heels in early spring will be a 12-bed seaside retreat in Robin’s Nest, which promises jaw-dropping views of the bay. The next decade is shaping up to be something special for Maison Parfaite, and if their forthcoming ventures are half as good as HG1, then we’re in for a treat. Who says it’s grim up North?
